Q: Why are you called "Glam Rock" if theres nothing 80's metal hair band about you?
A: I love 80's metal hair bands but thats in the 80's. The current revolution of Glam Rock is simply the act of the words themselves. The beautiful side of "Glam" mixed with the edgy and out there side of "Rock". We celebrate both Glam and Rock and so we put it together in this magazine. We welcome all submissions, 80's hair band Glam Rock and modern alternative fashion Glam Rock alike!
Q: How do I enter to be a part of your magazine?
A: Submit a short bio, full name, website and images to glamrockmagazine@gmail.com or submit via the form on our contact page on our website. http://glamrockmagazine.com/contact.html
Q: Who can submit to be featured in GR?
A: Anyone with talent and a portfolio! We strive for quality but know that not everyone has had the best chances in the industry. You don't have to be a Sabina Kelley or Raquel Reed to submit, but you should have big dreams and passion. We are always on the lookout for models, fashion designers, photographers, makeup artists, hair stylists, tattoo artists, artists, musicians, potential columnists and much more to showcase to our fanbase, so dont hesitate to submit your talent.
Images and such sent through email to submit will NOT be used in the magazine without consent from the party being featured. All images are fully credited and used to showcase ones talent, not gain profit.
All profit made by GR in print or advertising is used only to reproduce future issues. No profitable gain is seen in the production of this magazine.
Q: If i'm featured in your magazine do I get a free print issue?
A: Unfortunately no. Due to the fact that we currently are an independent magazine and print through magcloud, we cannot offer free issues due to the fact that it would cost us a bundle to produce them free for everyone. We do however have the magazine available for free to view online to everyone AND if you'd like we can provide the actual tear sheets from the printed issue of your feature. If you'd like just the prints of your feature for free, email us at glamrockmagazine@gmail.com with your name and address and we will be happy to send them along! We can also send you a printable PDF version of the magazine so you can print it yourself. If you have an iPad you can also download it for free via magcloud. All issues are also available for free to view via issuu.com and can be viewed for free on all android phones!
We do post often when magcloud has large sales so our fans and featured talent can get a nice discount on the issues, but until we find a cheaper way of production or hook up with a publishing company, this is is our only option.
Q: How can i Subscribe to GR?
A: currently we only utilize our mailing list as a for of subscribing to tell everyone the moment new issues and print issues are released! if you'd like to sign up for it, check out our website! www.glamrockmagazine.com

Q: Does GR pay people for their features?
A: No. We are an independently run magazine based out of San Francisco, CA designed and operated by Chelsea Tavis aka Tragic Glamour. All columnists contribute on their free time for potential resume building and exposure, all features are meant to help build exposure for each individual and not meant to be used to gain profit. All profit made by GR in print or advertising is used only to reproduce future issues. No profitable gain is seen in the production of this magazine.
Unless GR is bought out or teams up with a major production company, this is how the magazine has to run. While you may not be paid, we have been told by MANY of the talent featured that they have received paid gigs, more clients or just plain more business by being featured in GR and we are pleased to offer that kind of help to up and comers as well as established talent.
Q: Do I need to have permission from the model/photog/etc to send in my pictures?
A: Written consent is preferred and we expect you to make sure the parties involved in creating your art are on board with you submitting. If any f them are not, please do not send us those images. We understand a majority of models and photogs only allow their images to be used when they are paid and don't want to cause any friction with them. Trust me, if we could pay you, we would.
Q: Im not a model, photog, designer or anything like that.. How can i contribute to the magazine?
A: if you would like to pitch a column idea to help contribute to GR, please send a sample article to glamrockmagazine@gmail.com! We'd love to hear from you and are open to columns on ANY subject.
If columns are not you thing, try submitting a "letter" or "rant" to glamrockmagazine@gmail.com to be a part of our on-going "Letters" section! You can find it at the back of every issue. We try to keep them funny and light hearted, but give it a whirl and tell us how you feel! You might just get yours printed in the next issue!
Q: I'd like to be on the cover of GR! How can i submit for that?
A: Our covers are currently booked up pretty far in advance, however if you would like to be on the next open cover, submit to us a short bio, full name, website and images to glamrockmagazine@gmail.com with the subject line: "Feature Submission: COVER"
If we can't get you on an upcoming cover, we will try to at least get you a coveted spread in the next available issue.
If you have any questions about Glam Rock, feel free to write to us via email and we will answer them and/or put them up here!
